Summer Program overview
The primary role of a summer consultant is to make immediate, direct contributions to our ongoing case efforts for our clients. To do this, consultants must perform the following activities:
1. Participate in a case team setting in developing hypotheses, gathering data, brainstorming alternatives, and generating recommendations;
2. Work collaboratively with case team members from both the Action Company as well as other Monitor Group companies;
3. Manage project activities in the formulation of marketing strategy through a deep understanding of the customer;
4. Integrate broad sets of data into frameworks which can then be used to synthesize learning and develop strategy;
5. Determine the appropriate analysis techniques and supervise the analysis of existing and new customer and client data;
6. Developing skills and tradecraft in areas such as strategy formulation, case team and client interactions, and research design and analysis.

Training is provided primarily on the job and through on-going mentorship relationships.  The program includes an introductory session to introduce you to Monitor Group’s strategy and an overview of our methods and group company structure.  Finally, numerous social and informal events are planned, so you can get to know the firm on a more personal level.

Qualifications
Successful summer consultant applicants will meet each of the following criteria:
1. English as well as command of local language;
2. A strong and demonstrated interest in strategy consulting;
3. A base level of knowledge in business strategy, marketing, finance, operations, and data analysis techniques;
4. Excellent academic credentials;
5. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal;
6. Willingness and ability to take initiative and learn independently.
